25 Weeks

I venture to say one of your first words could very well be ALOHA.... you know why? Because Momma and Daddy LOVE the beach.... and you have an amazing Nanna and PaPaw who took us on vacation there this past week and I know are looking forward to getting your toesies in the sand one day too :). What a treat... we needed it too... it has been such a HOT and busy summer, so it was SO nice to vacation with family and do nothing but a whole lot of relaxing, swimming, playing and eating.... we know you'll love it someday, too. Speaking of loving it, you were SO active while we were in Hawaii... maybe you already DO love it... or maybe I just love feeling you move and squirm and stretch in my tummy. Yep, that's it. You have officially become quite the mover and shaker, sometimes painfully, in my tummy.... I'll take it though, keep it up!

This week Daddy and I were just completely overwhelmed by the generosity of your grandparents.... not only did they invite us on this wonderful vacation, taking care of EVERY thing that we did, but they wanted to invest in our lives, too. I pray you have a generous spirit, BR #2.... (I really pray that you see this modeled at home).... that you would be giving of your self, your talents, your blessings in order to bless others..... whether it be listening to a friend, offering time to help someone who needs you, eager to share, not having too tight a grip on anything material in this world or in any other area, that generosity would be a quality that drips from your soul. There is nothing more attractive in a person than one who humbly gives, serves or shares without any need for recognition.... and we pray you have that Spirit deeply knitted inside of you. I guarantee that you will see it modeled from your Nanna, PaPaw, Grandpa Mike, DotDot and Grandma Pam.... pray you recognize the generosity of your Momma and Daddy (especially your Daddy - he is working HARD so Momma can stay home with you and Eleanor), pray that you see it in Eleanor as we continue to pray that over her.... but mostly, that you would recognize the overwhelming and unmatchable generosity of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Out of His great love for you, giving up His place in Heaven and His LIFE to have and hold you FOREVER. Embrace that generosity, sweet one... no one loves you like He does. Not even Momma and Daddy.... and we will spend our lives trying. BR #2, we love you.

2 Corinthians 9:10-12

"He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God."

1 Timothy 6:17-19

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life."

If you have ever been through any sort of team tryout, audition, or interview, you know the waiting period can be a little bit stressful.... and well, that gives you an idea of how the hunt for our reception location has been since our engagement. Dallas Museum of Art--who wouldn't want to have their reception here? The Sister of Honor...

Its time for our readers to get to know some of our bridal party... and there is no better place to start than with your maid of honor!   For those of you who don't know my younger sister Katie, growing up she was my sidekick, my stage-hand, my monkey that would bang the cymbals if I asked.... basically, if I was the center of attention, she was right there to introduce me, applaud me, or be my partner in crime.   So now as we have both "grown" up, and its time for me to make the biggest decision of my life, it means the world to me that there Katie will be.... right by my side, my-stage hand, making me look better and supporting me as I change my last name once and for all. Crowdsourced Group Gift Guide 2020

Okay, so admittedly I am not a blogger in the sense that I do not actually know what I am doing.... so friends, bear with me - humor me, maybe - as I attempt to simply put all of the amazing ideas that so many people shared with me when I asked about gifts for Tripp, my 9 year old son, this Christmas.  I'll start with this - there are the usual suspects that if they were recommended once, they were recommended a dozen times... and it would come as no surprise, I imagine, that they included all things Lego, Nerf and _______ boards.   But there we tons of other ideas that were honestly new, to me, and I would love to share them with you!
