25 Weeks...

This week we began construction on the nursery... I use that term only because of the demolition that needed to be done :). And when I use the word demolition, I am probably being overly dramatic (go figure). But regardless, when we moved into our new home your room was painted AQUAFRESH BLUE with a black zebra printed fabric on one wall, had a bit of an odd-sized fan and a rather large, black cabinet mounted to the wall (very high and very blunt!)... so needless to say, this all is changing. The zebra print has come down, the fan has come down, and thanks to Grandpa Rector... the black monstrosity has now come off of the wall!! This demolition did leave a few bruises, so we will be having an electrician, wall - texture person and painter here in the next few weeks! I also had another appointment with the doctor, and you are doing great!!! That heartbeat is still strong as ever, and the doctor agrees that you are just going to be an active little monkey when you arrive, because your c

Sweet baby Rector, I thoroughly enjoyed my week with you inside... still active as ever, but you aren't causing any additional sickness or soreness like I have been complaining about before! The most noticeable difference to me is how quickly my legs feel like I have run a 10K... I am blaming this on wedding days where I am on my feet all day... because I admit, it is hard for me to sit or stand quickly on Sundays!! (Must be a good workout, eh?!) BJ and I are both believing that from a very young age you are going to come to know our precious Lord Jesus... it is my heart's desire that as His grace would fall upon your precious life you will respond with an unwavering faith and trust in the gift of salvation, and that your life would be a living testimony of the work of the Holy Spirit living in you. We pray that you have a heart of LOVE. A heart that not only receives love, but has a lot to give. May you never doubt the overwhelming, unconditional love that our Heavenly Father

So BJ and I have kind of had a whirlwind of a month, if not the last few months. We returned from our Babymoon only to move into our new house the very day we landed! Coupling that with the return of wedding season (woohoo!), BJ's new job and planning for a baby... well, it has been busy. Needless to say (hopefully), there are a lot of projects on our house that we have not had time to do yet! It seems like we moved in and tried to settle quickly (settle defined: made the house livable until we have time to get it the way that we want it). There are TONS of ideas we have... many that are slowly starting to take shape, many that will take time (due to money, baby and money). But this past weekend, we got off to a great start... where do you begin in a home? Well, easy answer for BJ and Karen... the toilets!! When we moved in, our bathroom toilets were adorned with these beauties: Just in case you cannot tell, this picture is of a PADDED toilet seat. (This is not an exact picture

I know that come 15 weeks from now, I am going to be pleading for those little kicks to be happening outside of my tummy, but the joy it brings to us now is just indescribable! This was the first week that your little sucker punches are noticeable to people OTHER than me... BJ has felt you kick almost every day now! Last night was just the funniest thing to me, though, as we were watching a show you started to kick me but by the time I had BJ come to feel, your BOTTOM was sticking out towards my stomach SO HARD! You must do flips all day long... In other news, we finally started to register last weekend now that we have 2 showers in the next month! It was kind of hard because I obviously have NO CLUE what you will need... so, many thanks to my cousin, Jana, for walking me through my "must haves"... We also went to San Antonio for Easter this weekend (pics to come in another post for that) and your great aunt and uncles just LOVE you... everyone is so excited to meet you... i

Precious Baby, you are a busy little bee!! What are you doing in there? I am just certain that you are going to be either a fabulous dancer or excellent soccer player, who knows, maybe both! But it is such a JOY to feel your little kicks all day, and night, long!! This week was so so fun as we began to prepare for your nursery and arrival!! Early in the week we met with a sweet woman who will be making all of your bedding... even though we are not finding out what you are until you arrive, there will be ONE person who knows!! I am just too particular to have a "gender neutral" nursery.... so, I have picked out fabrics for you if you are a girl and others if you are a boy... she will be finding out from our doctor and will start making everything for your room!! (Once you are delivered, my mom and some sweet friends will pick up the items from her house and come set up your room before you even come home!!). You will also be VERY proud of your momma... I have started to exerci
