32 Weeks

This week we got to hear that precious heartbeat... right at 136, which is pretty much the average for both you and Eleanor, typically you hover anywhere from 135 - 160. You are still moving, moving, moving and quite frankly it hurts :). There are so many kicks that often literally take my breath away or make me hunch over - I imagine you will be just like Eleanor, dancing out of the womb... how happy that would make your Momma :).

We were able to spend the weekend with some of our favorite friends, Jenn and Chris Massey who came in to town from Arkansas. Precious one, again, we pray that you have true, deep friendships that completely bless your life... it really does make all of the difference in the world. We pray that your friendships would be some that would encourage you, challenge you, sharpen you and just add JOY to your years. We sure hope that you and Eleanor are friends like this - I can't imagine anything more fun or exciting than hearing you two playing, laughing, dreaming and growing together!

BR #2, we pray that you would be a Peacemaker.... I absolutely love this quote and feel like it truly sums up our prayer for you in this:
"Now Peacemaking is a divine work. For peace means reconciliation, and God is the author of peace and of reconciliation. … It is hardly surprising, therefore, that the particular blessing which attaches to peacemakers is that "they shall be called sons of God." For they are seeking to do what their Father has done, loving people with his love." - John R. W. Stott
Sweet one, we pray that you first and foremost receive the reconciliation offered to you in Christ to our Heavenly Father... recognizing that he is the author and initiator of true peace. From there, may your actions towards the Lord, your family, your friends, strangers and those who would be likely enemies be ones that are rooted in extending peace, reconciliation, grace, mercy and love. We pray, as we pray this over ourselves, that the Holy Spirit's working in your heart would lift your countenance to a love radically opposed and unfamiliar to the rest of the world.... only prompted by your response to the gospel. This is going to be hard, sweet baby, because when wounded our natural instinct would be to shut down, turn away or even worse.. to wound back. You will unfortunately see that in our house, with your friends and all over this world... and it is likely that you won't receive the same treatment in return should you allow the Holy Spirit to resonate peace through you - but oh that it would be instilled in you, something you yield to even in life's most difficult moments, something you offer when others offer you the ugly. How precious and transforming would that be?

Matthew 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."

Proverbs 12:20
"Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy."

James 3:18
"And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."
