Hawaii 2011 - Day One...

For Christmas this past year, we received a fabulous vacation to Hawaii from Nanna and Pa-Paw Rector.... so this past August, we headed there with Eleanor ready to put baby girl's toes in the sand!!!! Eleanor's first flight took off around noon, which means she missed her morning nap... yikes! She actually did really well waiting for the plane waving to other passengers, walking the terminal and looking at planes through the window with Daddy and Pa-Paw...
But as you can see, Punkin Bottom was TIRED..."How much longer, Daddy???"So... we loaded the plane right at about 11:45am, took off by 12pm and were on our way, nonstop, to paradise! We had 3 middle seats, so Eleanor "sat" between us.... really what happened is that Eleanor wanting nothing to do with ANYONE or ANY SEAT except for with Daddy. He was quite the trooper for the 8 hour flight.... even though she did nap a little bit, it was only when he would hold her... and if she was awake, well, she only wanted to play with him! So how was the flight on this preggo Momma?? GREAT!
Little did we know that Eleanor wanting Daddy on the flight would serve as foreshadowing for the next week of our lives.... haha!
We landed in Maui about 3pm (8pm Dallas time) and Eleanor was a trooper! She took a little nap from the airport to our resort, but then did great as we tried to keep her up as late as possible! I wish I took some more pictures that night, but alas.... there are none!

We checked in to our villa, got everything settled and then walked the boardwalk to Duke's for dinner.... not the best dinner we had, but it was quick and close so it was perfect. We got home, put Eleanor to bed and were not far behind her.....

Around 1am, Eleanor started crying and screaming like crazy in the hotel crib..... she would only settle down when Daddy held her... so guess what happened the rest of the night! Eleanor slept in our bed RIGHT next to her Daddy.... it was so sweet, albeit a rougher night for him. I wish I could have taken pictures of them snuggling... but obviously didn't want to wake her up. She literally slept curled up next to him ALL night. What a way to start a relaxing vacation, eh?! All in all, she was great on the flight and adjusted pretty well for the time change, so baby girl, we are proud of you :).
