29 Weeks...

Hello baby! Every day I am more anxious to know... are you a Boy or a Girl?? Inside this envelope... the doctor wrote it... it is off to the seamstress, so I cannot be tempted! I can't wait to hear those words... "Congratulations, it is a ....!!!" This week your kicks are actually more like "rubs"... that sounds weird, but it is as if you are stretching your little legs and arms out and I can feel them slowly move around my stomach... crazy! It was such an exciting week - we had another sonogram and we got to see your darling little hands, arms and legs... I wish we could have seen a better view of your face, but you were asleep in the birthing position (upside down, head down) so we just got a profile shot (backwards)... you are BEAUTIFUL! You are also getting so big!! You weigh 3.5 pounds already... and we still have 10 weeks to go... so, you can start growing at a slower pace if you would like. Isn't that funny... I am already acting like what I hear moms

This week we traveled to Branson, Missouri for our last little road trip of this pregnancy... oh Branson, the joy you bring us! While it is definitely the blue-haired, purple hat, fake Vegas capital of the world, it holds such a special place in both BJ's and my heart. Hopefully baby, you will be able to experience Kanakuk as soon as you are old enough (eh hem, grandparents!) One of BJ's best pals got married, so it was fun being there and celebrating with fun kamp friends as our last hurrah out of the city until baby comes! Mother's Day was also this week.... people kept wishing me a Happy day... and as nice at is, I truly was a bit taken back by it all... even though you are still kicking and squirming all day (I LOVE IT), I don't really know that I am a "mother" yet... well, at least it doesn't feel like it. So I told BJ not to get me anything... and he didn't (bummer). But he did pick up a card while we were at the grocery store and told me to read

*Guest blogger BJ, (is this really necessary? Karen says YES, It is.) What did we do this week? Well Karen had her second baby shower (she will blog about this, for sure). BJ enjoyed some early success at his new job. And, we spent a fun Sunday night with our new small group over the fabulous Rosa's Cafe mexican cuisine. Karen is very pumped because she only gained one pound this week. Bummed to have found this out, however, due to a trip to the doctor for hacking her lungs up. Well, seeing how I am a guest and new at blogging about baby things I should take this opportunity to confess that I find it a little weird to try to talk to our baby in front of you all. Weirder still is the admittance of this fact. I have been praying along with Karen for the different fruit of the Spirit in our child, and journaling my thoughts and prayers for reading at a later time. But since I have you all as an audience today I think I will take the time to tell you what I have thought about this preg

Baby Shower #1

Like I mentioned in the week 26 update... I was blessed by an amazing shower by some family friends who have known me since I was just a little tike... and NOW, they are celebrating me joining them all in motherhood... CRAZY! Literally, sometimes I still think this whole baby thing is quite surreal. Outside of the obvious physical changes happening to me, I just can't believe that in 12 weeks BJ and I will have our very first child! UNREAL! Each of the hosts for this shower have been a huge part of my family's life since I was young.... I know that they have covered me in prayer throughout all of my life stages thus far. They have loved me so well, supported me through my teen years, encouraged me through college, celebrated my marriage to BJ and now... they have humbled me yet again as they are blessing BJ and I with all sorts of goods to prep for Baby Rector!! The cute cakes - which will it be? A little girl or boy?? 3 Generations :)... my momma, me and baby rector going thro

Such a fun, fun week! We had our very first baby shower (pics to come) hosted by some family friends that have known me since I was a baby... CRAZY to think of how fast time flies and how blessed we are to have so many people that love us our whole lives! You just wait, baby, they are already obsessed with you! I am excited for you to meet the people in my life that will be to you as my parents friends are to me.... to know that you will have such great support from our dearest friends that will literally know you from day one. I pray that the Lord keeps them in your life the way that my parent's friends have been in mine even until now... that they would pray for you, love you, encourage you through your infant, toddler, tween, teen, college and adult years... even to when you prepare for your first baby - that they would be right there to celebrate. Such a blessing is rare, I know it... but I pray it for you! Along with that, this week we pray for you to have, to reflect, PEACE.
