Baby Shower #1

Like I mentioned in the week 26 update... I was blessed by an amazing shower by some family friends who have known me since I was just a little tike... and NOW, they are celebrating me joining them all in motherhood... CRAZY! Literally, sometimes I still think this whole baby thing is quite surreal. Outside of the obvious physical changes happening to me, I just can't believe that in 12 weeks BJ and I will have our very first child! UNREAL!

Each of the hosts for this shower have been a huge part of my family's life since I was young.... I know that they have covered me in prayer throughout all of my life stages thus far. They have loved me so well, supported me through my teen years, encouraged me through college, celebrated my marriage to BJ and now... they have humbled me yet again as they are blessing BJ and I with all sorts of goods to prep for Baby Rector!!

Opening 2 really fun gifts - my BUMBO and 2 little outfits... just look at those bottoms! But again, will we have a little monkey or a mini-dot dot....???

And for a more "embarrassing" gift... so excited to receive this, but come on marketing department... "MY BREST FRIEND".. really? So awkward!! The ladies were loving my awkwardness... I know in about 3 months this will all be out the window, but for now, call me a prude!

If you have ever been through any sort of team tryout, audition, or interview, you know the waiting period can be a little bit stressful.... and well, that gives you an idea of how the hunt for our reception location has been since our engagement. BJ and I wanted to find a location that we felt "suits" us... so, the search began a while ago, to say the least. Enjoy this process alongside of us: 1. Dallas Museum of Art--who wouldn't want to have their reception here? The Hamon Atrium is absolutely perfect for the bride and groom who like to work with bare bones--slate floors, concrete infrastructure, and a 5 story glass wall with colorful blown glass cascading down. The Sister of Honor...

Its time for our readers to get to know some of our bridal party... and there is no better place to start than with your maid of honor!   For those of you who don't know my younger sister Katie, growing up she was my sidekick, my stage-hand, my monkey that would bang the cymbals if I asked.... basically, if I was the center of attention, she was right there to introduce me, applaud me, or be my partner in crime.   So now as we have both "grown" up, and its time for me to make the biggest decision of my life, it means the world to me that there Katie will be.... right by my side, my-stage hand, making me look better and supporting me as I change my last name once and for all. Crowdsourced Group Gift Guide 2020

Okay, so admittedly I am not a blogger in the sense that I do not actually know what I am doing.... so friends, bear with me - humor me, maybe - as I attempt to simply put all of the amazing ideas that so many people shared with me when I asked about gifts for Tripp, my 9 year old son, this Christmas.  I'll start with this - there are the usual suspects that if they were recommended once, they were recommended a dozen times... and it would come as no surprise, I imagine, that they included all things Lego, Nerf and _______ boards.   But there we tons of other ideas that were honestly new, to me, and I would love to share them with you!
