Eleanor :: Seven Months Old

We are here again, another month gone by..... weeks pass by so quickly and days even faster, yet I just cannot believe how much you grow and change so significantly! Eleanor, you are just becoming quite the little lady - so full of personality, of attitude (sometimes an ATTITUDE!) and of LIFE... you literally enjoy all of your days! It is so fun to watch you constantly learning... absolutely everything is new to you and intrigues you - I often just stare as you study any new thing put before you, it is so FUN to watch you learn! There is not ONE day that passes that I don't praise our sweet Jesus for blessing us with you... I have actually become quite emotional over it in the last few weeks as I know that we are not promised tomorrow, health, security or anything that of course we all long for... and yet, He has shown Himself ever-so-faithful and abundantly generous in how He has dealt with us. We are so very undeserving for the honor it is to be called your Momma and Daddy.

7 months.... to think that last year at this time I was just starting to show signs of a pregnant belly.... and now here you are - and you exceed every dream or desire we could have ever had....
Don't let this picture fool you, little one. You may look bigger, but you are 7 months and weigh a whopping 13.12 lbs (8%) and you are 26.5 in tall (65%) ... that is right, you are one little string bean. AND WE LOVE IT... you are truly our "little girl" (of course one of your main nicknames). You are still wearing size 3-6 month clothes! That is right, even though you are long enough to wear 6 months, they are just HUGE on you... the majority of your cloths are still in the 3-6 month range... you are also very much still in size 2 diapers... who knows when you will get to size 3!Your schedule is in a great routine.... it is like clock-work and you never miss a cue. You wake up at 7am to nurse, we play until about 9:15am then you nap until about 11am, you wake up and nurse again and eat some VEGGIES or FRUIT (you love this part - especially bananas, sweet potatoes and carrots... I guess you have a sweet tooth like your Momma!), we play together until about 1:30 then you nap until 2:30pm, you wake up and nurse around 3:15, we play until about 4:30 then you nap until about 5:15/30, you nurse and eat some solids again, then it is bedtime at 7:15/30pm.... you are still SUCH A GREAT SLEEPER! And you read this right... no more dream-feed... you sleep from 7-7 nonstop!
You have also busted out of the swaddle too many times to make it worth it, so you are now sleeping in a sleepsack every night. We need to start video taping the monitor because you are a WILD sleeper.... you start on your back, then go to your stomach, then to your side with your legs propped on your bumper pads, back to your stomach, and end up the complete opposite direction from the way we lay you in the crib... it is hilarious! Most naps you still prefer to be swaddled... but we are slowly starting to wean there too...
You are SO SO SO close to crawling!! You actually do not mind "tummy time" at all, and have started really trying to scoot or pull yourself when you see something you want. Most of the time, this results in you rolling over and over changing your angle until you get there, but slowly you are learning to bend those knees to start crawling - we aren't in a rush... I dread the day you don't want momma to hold you.... don't get too cool for me, deal?
You have the best hair ever. You are getting SO much blond hair on the top (those black hairs are just barely hanging on in the back, I love them!)... but your new hair is coming in like crazy and when I say crazy I mean there is a lot and I mean it is kicking up some major crazy curl. I am jealous. You have the best laugh in the entire world... it doesn't take much for us to get a good laughing rolling from you, but I tell you what, it melts our hearts and just makes us want to become comedians - we could hear that laugh and see that smile all day long!
The weather was up and down the entire February... literally we went from 5 straight snow days to weather in the 80s a week later... both were amazing! I cherished the snow days to just lay around and play with you all day, but it was SO nice that it warmed up and we got to play at the park too... what a great month!
We are literally told almost every time in public that you look just like the Gerber baby.... I am pretty sure they are referring to the curl, but I think it is also safe to say that it could just very well be that you. are. that. beautiful. And those people don't even know who you are on the inside.... they are really missing out. How are you my child? How are YOU my little girl?
You are back to pacis.... so you gave them up when you were 6 months old, but they have re-entered your life this month... and I am completely fine with it. I actually think that kids with pacis are the cutest = you are the cutest.
You, unfortunately, inherited your Momma's eczema... so we spend a lot of time lotioning your arms and legs, sorry lady. You also had your first bad experience with diaper rash... NO FUN! But thanks to some "Butt Paste", that is gone... that stuff is the best.
You love love love to play... when you are awake, you want to be entertained... you are pretty good at playing by yourself, but only for about 10-15 minutes... then you love some company.
You still LOVE bathtime!
Daddy left town for a week for some business, so we spent a few days with your Grandma Dot Dot and Grandpa Pop Pop..... they have some new toys at their house for you and you LOVE your Jeep. You really do adjust the mirrors, honk the horn and wave when in the car... it is ridiculously cute.
You have started to smack your lips... when you are done with either nursing or eating solids, you lick your lips and smack like you are full and happy... haha!
I wish I had a picture to prove it (or a video) but you LOVE animals! We went to the ranch this month with the Macfarlans, Masseys and Minors... they had horses at the ranch and you LOVE to look at them... you scream and kick and laugh like you want to ride one - haha! You also LOVE puppy's... you have officially met Maebe and ChaCha and want to pet them every time you see them, even if ChaCha just leaves the room for a minute. I thought we had years until we would have to be a family with a pup, but not with the way we see you respond already... wow!
You love to mimic noises we make... you are really trying to say something, and we can't figure out what exactly that is.... because you are constantly making some kind of sound! You also LOVE to laugh and smile at us to get our attention... it is hilarious... you will do a deep laugh for no reason until we look at you, once we look you clinch your face in a tight smile and let out a gasp... we love it!
You went to the church nursery for the first time - you did a GREAT job! I was so nervous that you wouldn't like it because you still have a very bad case of "stranger danger", but apparently you were just fine.... phew!
You make awesome facial expressions.
Momma is a nervous ninny... I wouldn't let you out in the snow even though it would have been great to get your picture in it... so instead, you sat by the glass door and longingly looked out to the winter wonderland, sorry.
But we played dress-up instead... and of course, that was so fun. (And necessary for little girls... get ready for a lot of this in the future).
Still no teeth, but still the crazy drool with hands in your mouth constantly.
You are currently at the stage where if you see something, you want it. And if you want it, you want it now... yikes... we are working on it. But things you currently cannot ignore and will fuss for if you see: Iphones, Remotes, the monitor, watches and water bottles...
There are so many other wonderful things you are doing... the days pass to quickly and we let moments go back without noting everything, which I hate. We want you to know that we do not take for granted ONE moment we get with you, and pray that we never will. We are undeserving, and quite frankly consider ourselves so very blessed to have you as our little girl. Loving and raising you is the greatest JOY your daddy and I have in this world... all of our desires have changed... we want nothing more than to see you come to know Jesus at an early age and to be part of shepherding you towards righteousness as we are on that road too. You are so beautiful and precious, Eleanor.... but not just on the outside... you have the most gentle, joyful and loving heart; and it is beautiful beyond description. We love you....

I Peter 3:4
...but let your beauty be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious....
